Eric Clapton - Wallflowers
The opening act were the Wallflowers, a rock band fronted by Bob Dylan’s son, Jakob Dylan. They had moderate success in the late 90’s with their 2nd album “Bringing Down the Horse” which featured the hits “One Headlight”, “6th Avenue Heartache”, and “The Difference”. I wasn’t the biggest Wallflowers fan but they put on a good show so I gained quite a bit of respect for them.
The main reason for me attending this show was to watch guitar legend, Eric Clapton. He is the only person to be inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame three times, once with the Yardbirds, once with Cream, and also as a solo artist. I had recently read his autobiography which is one of my all-time favorites.
The show was absolutely amazing and he played a lot of hit songs like “My Father’s Eyes”, “I Shot the Sheriff”, “Tears in Heaven”, “Wonderful Tonight”, “Layla”, “Cocaine”, and many others. Being a guitar player myself, I was glad to be able to watch him run through his set and take the audience to another level.
