Red Hot Chili Peppers
I recently read Anthony Keidis' book "Scar Tissue" and it's one of my favorite musician autobiographies. He wrote in detail about his childhood, escapism into drugs and hiding out in motels strung out for days. He paints a vivid picture of the being a rock star in Hollywood but also having very relatable roots that I felt connected to. The Chili Peppers have been around for 30 years and were inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 by Chris Rock. An odd choice as presenter, but a deserving band nonetheless.
This concert was great and the Chili Peppers were one of the loudest bands I've ever seen live. The bass and drum jams between Flea and Chad Smith were spot on and made me feel miniscule as a musician. Kiedis had full control of the crowd and we sang every word with him. It was definitely one of the better concerts I've been to in recent years. I didn't take many photos which is very strange for me. I guess I was completely captivated by the music.
