Van Halen - Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Opening this show was Kenny Wayne Shepherd, an American guitarist from Louisiana who's self-taught and doesn't read music. He got his first guitar at age four from his grandmother but really started playing when he was seven. Seven of his singles have made it to the Top 10 and he holds the record for longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Charts with "Trouble Is". He's also been nominated for five Grammy Awards and received two Billboard Music Awards, and two Blues Music Awards.
Bonifide rock legends, Van Halen achieved worldwide fame for their many popular songs, contract riders, and larger than life performances as well as the drama surrounding the departures of former members. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and VH1 ranked them 7th on their list of the top 100 hard rock bands of all time.
The band played 25 songs including "Runnin' with the Devil", "Dance the Night Away", "Beautiful Girls", "Hot for Teacher", "Ice Cream Man", "Unchained", "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love", and of course Eddie played what's widely considered to be the greatest guitar solo of all time... "Eruption". The band sounded off at times but mostly nailed their set.
