A Real Rock Story - Documentary
"A Real Rock Story" will cover the drama and struggle of being in a rock band, the ability of music to carry people through difficult times, the psychology and misconceptions of rock and heavy metal music, the South Florida music scene, and whether or not it's possible to balance a professional career with an artistic lifestyle in the age of social media.
When you start a band, become best friends, write and record music, play shows all over, and have experiences you'll remember for a lifetime... it just might be interesting to document and share the story. We've endured infighting, setbacks, lawsuits, a dying rock scene, and conflicts with our personal lives but we still chased the dream as much as we could.
I reached out to artists, musicians, radio hosts, producers, corporate executives, and even PhD Professors to share their insights on the topics I wanted to cover for this film. I've never taken a film class or put together a film before. I always had a love of movies and would watch the behind the scenes and "making of" documentaries so I'm drawing from that experience as well as my years working in Information Technology.
There are so many possibilities with this film and a lot of content that I want to fit in to tell an epic story. Right now I'm 75% done filming and plan on shooting the rest soon. It's amazing to be able to tell my story at this level and also the story of many other people who have been impacted by music. There are some powerful, intimate, and inspirational moments that I can't wait for people to see. There's so much work to be done and I'll be updating this gallery as I make progress. If you're interested in being involved with the film, please contact me.
